5-star hotel with a 2-Michelin-star restaurant in Dublin city center
Dining & Culture
The Merrion is home to Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud, one of Ireland's only restaurants to hold two Michelin stars. The hotel's Art Afternoon Tea features pastries inspired by 19th- and 20th-century artworks from its own collection. Guests can also dine in The Garden Room, The Cellar Bar, or the intimate No. 23 Cocktail Bar, all within the restored Georgian townhouses.
Art & Architecture
The hotel displays an extensive collection of 19th- and 20th-century art throughout its public spaces and guest corridors. The property is a careful restoration of four Georgian townhouses, located opposite Government Buildings in the heart of Dublin. This setting places guests within a few minutes' walk of the National Gallery of Ireland, Trinity College, and The Guinness Storehouse.
Wellness & Spa
The on-site spa and health club includes an 18-metre indoor swimming pool, a steam room, and a sauna. Guests can book facial treatments, massages, body scrubs, and wraps, as well as hair and make-up services. The spa lounge and relaxation area are included in all spa/wellness packages, and the fitness centre is open year-round.
Rooms & Services
The 142 bedrooms and suites are furnished with unique Georgian-inspired decor, and the hotel offers a complimentary airport pick-up service. A personalized concierge service arranges tours, bicycles, and walking tours of the city. Other amenities include a heated indoor pool open all year, valet parking, and electric vehicle charging stations.
Business & Events
The hotel has excellent facilities for high-level business meetings and corporate events, including meeting and banquet rooms. Business guests can use the on-site business centre, fax and photocopying services, and express check-in/check-out. The property also offers private parking and is within walking distance of the I.F.S.C and Dublin Convention Centre.
Highlights
Awards: 5-Star rating from Forbes Travel Guide and AA Rosette for culinary excellence
Dining: Two Michelin stars for Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud
Art: 19th- and 20th-century art collection displayed throughout the hotel
Service: Complimentary airport pick-up service
Location: Opposite Government Buildings, minutes from Trinity College and the National Gallery of Ireland
“This hotel strikes me as a particularly well-located choice in Dublin, placing guests within easy reach of key attractions and transport. The blend of historic architecture with modern comforts creates an appealing atmosphere, as does the acclaimed dining and art-focused afternoon tea. While some rooms might benefit from updates, the attentive service and overall elegance still make a strong impression.”

Excellent stay, some minor issues
helpful staff car transfer high quality
The staff was always helpful and very polite. The hotel arranged tours and car transfers. They were excellent, and made travel arrangements very easy. I enjoyed meals at the hotel. The quality was high.
The bedroom was underwhelming for a 5 stars hotel. The plastic sockets were unforgivable, in a hotel of this level. It needs improvements.

Acceptable Stay with Service Lapses
plastic sockets limited breakfast
The welcome felt lackluster. My room had white plastic sockets, which seemed out of place. The breakfast service was subpar. Staff were unhelpful. The food selection was limited, and the quality of ingredients was not great. it did not meet expectations for a hotel in its category.
